SEDUCE MY LOVE (Bloody Desires Series Book 4) Page 5
Glancing around, I stared at the sunset that was almost gone from the sky, the dark navy blue to black shades of the night engulfing the last bits of golden orange and reds.
I ran my hands through my hair and looked down to see I'd fallen asleep in the beach chair I'd been resting on. From the light blanket that cloaked my bottom half, Pix must have placed it there.
He must have not wanted to wake me up, but I doubted he realized how deep a sleeper I was. Unless I have crazy nightmares.
Just the thought of my mother's voice sent shivers through me, prompting me to get up and walk around. It was my way of reminding myself that I was now free and not locked in that dungeon like a caged animal.
I wasn't too worried about where Pix was, remembering he was talking on the phone with Liam. Something about having him teleport back to bring something my dad had gotten or something along those lines.
I had been dozing off by then, so I could have simply imagined it, but seeing as I didn't feel worried, I wasn't going to let my mind stress about it.
My wolf was still asleep, her tail moving from time to time as I walked around the beach. She'd been pretty content since our confrontation. I did miss Liam and Brian just a bit, but it could have been because I was so used to them being around or having to work alongside them.
Pix was really relaxed, which reminded me of his feline nature. He wasn't in a rush to do things but loved to enjoy and reminisce in the moment. We spent a good amount of time swimming in the beautiful clear water, before sunbathing and simply chatting about stuff we liked.
Neither of us had brought up Alexander, which to be honest, was nice. I was trying not to sound like a broken record or give the impression that I missed him.
The talk with Dad helped a lot, and I did realize I wasn't fully in the right because I didn’t take into consideration the situation he was in. I decided if I saw him anytime soon, I'd tell him what I wanted, just in case he had forgotten.
At least that way, he'd know what my expectations were and if he couldn't firmly stick with them due to him losing out on his own opportunities, I'd simply have to let him go.
Even if deep in my heart, I don't want to.
I noticed a little cave up ahead. My wolf peeked an eye open, looking just as intrigued as I felt.
Let's just take a quick look and head back. I expected after what must have been a long nap, I would at least feel refreshed, but instead was sluggishly dragging my feet.
When was the last time I took my blood tablets? I really had to figure out a scheduled alarm system to remind me to take those things. I'd completely forgotten to take them when I was having tea with Dad.
Ugh. Liam's gonna scold me.
I shook the thought away, deciding I could take them when I got back. Entering the cave, I looked around the smooth surface. Glancing around, I realized it wasn't necessarily an abandoned cave, but one that was designed with intriguing decor.
I looked in awe, noticing the bed that was carved stone and decorated with an array of flowers and crystals.
The mattress was cloaked with navy blue sheets and I realized it was waterproof because a single droplet fell from the spiked ceiling, dropping onto the smooth surface but not leaving a wet stain in its wake.
There was even a nightstand, an area where you could create a closed off fire, and a few frames on the wall that were embedded with the same crystals that decorated the bed frame.
I took a closer look at each frame, looking at the various pictures of what seemed to be views from around the island. They had no particular order or relevance to one another, but it somehow fit the overall atmosphere of the secluded spot.
My wolf curled up in a ball, looking as though she was tired and wanted to go back to sleep. I didn't blame her. I felt sluggish and slightly anxious due to the tiny space. Even though it was a cave, it still bit at my claustrophobia, making me regret coming here to begin with.
Especially after that dream.
Taking a few deep breaths, I turned around to walk out, but after a few steps I stopped, my eyes focusing on the ground and the symbols on the floor.
They were definitely some type of magic symbol, or maybe a different language for those who used magic. Regardless of their reason for their placement, they intrigued me.
Or distracted me.
Lowering to my knees, I reached out and ran my fingers around the symbols, blinking a few times as I noticed the slight golden glow that began to shift to a gorgeous purple. Biting my lip, I felt the tug of magic within the ground, but it didn't bring fear to me.
I wonder if Dad made this place or if the island itself created it.
With a sigh, I tried to get up, but my legs didn't want to play nice, reminding me of my forgetfulness when it came to my blood tablets.
This is what I get for always forgetting. Jeez. I wonder if I can contact Brian this far out. The thought made me even more tired, realizing I'd worry him too. He most likely was asleep and I didn't want to be the one to wake him up over my irresponsibility.
"It's your fault."
I placed my hand on my forehead and sighed, immediately trying to push away the hallucination. Something that always happens when I reach a dangerously low blood level.
Clearly, my body was doing its own thing, bypassing the dizzy fainting spells and going right to the hallucination stage. I sat back on my knees and closed my eyes, taking deep breaths as I zoned everything out.
It's not real. Nothing is real right now. It's just me and the land beneath me. My mother isn't here. She can't harm me. No one can hurt me. Not anymore.
I continued my little mantra, waiting for the imaginary sounds to stop as they continued their mockery. Placing my hands against my ears, I did my best to block out the screams.
The anger-filled screams of disappointment.
The annoyance that leaked off my mother’s voice at my continuous failures.
The sadness that always laced the maid’s words.
The sound of my fast-beating heart against my chest.
The rapid breaths that escaped my lips.
Something wrapped around me, but I remained still, my mind not ready to embrace reality just yet. I didn't want to deal with the pain. I was scared to see those eyes that glared at me with disgust.
After all the years that had passed, I could still picture her authoritative pose as she looked down at me. The way she'd grit her teeth and wish she’d never given birth to me. Why couldn't I be the weapon she wanted? Was it my vampire side that left me unworthy of her love? The side of her that wished for my dad's love? Or was it simply my existence that reminded her of the mistakes she had made in the past?
Irreversible mistakes that will never be unwritten, for I am living proof.
"Sia. Come back to me."
The voice was calm but held a strong connection to me. It reminded me of the few occasions where I was shown a bit of love. The little instances where my mother would look down at me with sadness, not due to my multiple failures, but for the pain she was inflicting on me.
The few situations where she didn't use her hands to hurt me but to hug me and apologize for her flaws. To say how sorry she was, and that her insecurities and fears were the reason why she desperately wanted me to be strong.
Desperately wanted to mold me into a person who couldn't be walked over by any shifter race, especially if they were male.
It took me some time before I finally opened my eyes, needing the support of whoever I was resting against to help me stay put as the world spun. Something was stroking my hair, reminding me of how Dad would when all I could do was cry.
"Sia?" It took me a few moments to recognize the voice.
Pix?
I struggled to lift my head fully back, but a hand brushed my cheek, sliding into my hair and moving my head back just slightly so I could meet those worried blue eyes.
"Pixel," I mumbled. It sounded more like a croak, my throat so dry like I hadn't drunk water for days.
My eyes slowly drifted to his neck, landing on the pulsing section that seemed to call to me; the sound of blood rushing through his veins reached my ears and taunted me.
I licked my lips, missing out on whatever Pix must have said. I did catch onto his timidity, and he gently stroked my cheek, which caught my attention, my eyes drifting back to his.
"The twins warned me that you skip your blood meds far too often and I should keep an eye on you, but I didn't think it was this bad," he commented.
I pouted my lips, bracing myself for him to scold me while I tried not to lose focus, the pulsing of his rushing blood still nagging my ears.
He blinked a few times before his once-worried expression softened. He leaned in and kissed me ever so gently.
"Sia, are you thirsty?" he whispered against my lips. I needed a few extra seconds to respond, soaking up his words in anticipation.
"Yes," I said with confidence but quickly added, "But I can...um wait? I don't have much control," I whispered.
I desperately wanted to suck on his flesh and taste the warm blood coursing through him.
"I feel like you won't last till we get back and I personally would rather not get jumped by you," he pondered more to himself than me. I frowned and tried to move away, not wanting to look weak in front of him.
"I'm fine. I can last," I grumbled, feeling a tad angry. I did have a short temper when I was thirsty, but I didn't want to disappoint him.
I can't fail him like I did Mother.
Now I was getting delusional, my logic assessment of the situation and my current predicament losing against the sheer force of my emotions.
I wanted to impress Pixel for some reason. Maybe it was due to our conversation about having to choose a new Mistress or Master if he decided to make an alli
ance with the Council.
He lifted my chin so I had no choice but to peer into his eyes, and he raised a questioning eyebrow at me.
"Why are you upset?"
"I'm not weak," I huffed. "I'd be stronger than any other girl. Much worthier to be your Mistress than anyone else."
My words weren't making sense and were completely unrelated to the current problem, but it was as if they had to be spoken. It was simple. I didn't want to share Pix with anyone else.
"Who said there was any competition?" he whispered.
"You said I'm weak."
"I said I don't think you would l-"
"Which means I'm weak and can't fight my own thirst. I'm not. I can withstand anything. I was trained that way. I don't need you. I don't need anyone," I grumbled and moved from his hold.
Fighting to get up, I finally did, but only lasted two steps before a secure hand wrapped around my waist.
I pouted my lips, knowing that if my wolf were awake she would have been hella snappy. I let out a shriek when my body was lifted and carried right over to the bed.
"Alexander warned me about this long ago but I didn't think I'd get to witness it myself," Pix commented, lowering me to the bed.
I gave him a defiant look, knowing my eyes must have been a vibrant red. He looked at me and sighed.
"Sia, you aren't weak, but I'm not letting you take a journey you won't win," Pix noted.
I was ready to argue that he was being silly and that I would prove him wrong, but I got distracted when he lifted the white shirt he was wearing.
Damn missing clothes trying to distract me with sexy abs.
"Your naked games won't stop me." I pointed at him. He merely grinned, tugging at his ponytail and releasing the bundle of long hair from its hold.
How can he have such nice hair? If I grow my hair that long will I be able to look like a walking shampoo commercial model? I wonder how much shampoo it takes to was- no! He's distracting me!
I saw amusement dancing in his eyes, which began to darken with something more. He moved onto the bed and I slowly shuffled back until my back was pressed against the cool stone wall the bed was positioned next to.
It must have been another hallucination of some sort, because Pix looked like a sexy predator and I must have been his prey.
"What are you doing?" I whispered, unable to hide my growing lust for him.
He looked so hot; his attraction was strong enough to defer my thirst for his blood just a little longer.
"Distracting you until your delusions take a back seat," he replied. I wasn't able to respond as he pressed his hands onto the stone surface behind me, blocking me from escaping.
Not like I could run away at this point. My body literally felt like jelly, my skin was feverish, my exhales were rapid like I'd run a mile, and my heart was beating so fast, I wondered if I was going to have a heart attack.
Pix must have noticed my desperation, moving his hair away from the left side of his neck. My eyes couldn't help but lower to the side of his neck, my tongue gliding along my bottom lip without my knowledge.
I desperately wanted to kiss his flesh. To taste his blood and enjoy his touch. It was funny how dependent I suddenly felt toward Pix. How in the recent crucial moments, he was right there, ready to do anything he could to help me.
To ease the constant pain my past pulled me into.
"Do you want to bite me, Sia?" Pix's voice was hypnotic, while his eyes were filled with so much more. A dark look that was filled with hunger, a desire far greater than food.
I swallowed the lump that formed in my dry throat, and as much as I wanted to lie, I couldn't.
I needed Pix. I wanted to taste his warm blood and enjoy every bit of it flooding my mouth and flowing down my throat.
Giving up my delusional pride, I nodded, moving my gaze to meet his as I whispered.
"Yes. Please, Pix." I wouldn't fight anymore.
Pix smiled, looking pleased with my answer. He leaned down to kiss me hard on the lips and I let my eyes close while I enjoyed those lips that took control of the kiss.
Pix had definitely improved in the kissing department, the difference more apparent this time around. It could have been my sensitive state feeling the need to be nitpicky, but either way, I enjoyed every second of it.
He pulled back but stayed close enough for his neck to be at a good distance for me to lean into.
"Bite me, Sia. Just remember to not drink all of my blood," he reminded. I slowly nodded, but with his permission, that was all I needed to forgo the last bit of restraint I had.
Leaning in, my tongue trailed along his neck, going from top to his clavicle and back until he shivered slightly at a specific spot.
It ignited a frenzy inside me, a strong craving to please him while I enjoyed getting lost in his luscious taste. Sucking gently on the flesh, I listened to his quiet moan, feeling one of his hands land on my bare thigh.
If that didn't leave me horny, I don't know what else could have contributed to the jolt of pleasure that made my pussy clench with desire.
My thirst finally outweighed my pleasurable needs, and before I knew it, my fangs were out and sinking into his flesh.
Pix let out a low groan, stiffening up a bit, which could have been due to the initial pain that came with the bite. I was sure he’d never experienced what it was like to be bitten by a vampire, but I wanted to show him the good side of it.
First, I need to quench my thirst.
The agony of my dire need for blood seemed worth it as I took in the first suck of his rich blood. It was far different than Liam's or Brian's, having its own unique taste that ignited a different part within me.
I moaned, my body finally beginning to relax from the pent-up stress and tension of needing blood. I moved even closer, my body pressing against Pix's as I let myself be lost in the blissful moment.
If it wasn't for the slow trailing movement that went down my back, I would have lost control completely.
"Sia. I'm reaching my limit here," Pix weakly whispered, and it was enough to pull me out of it. I unlatched from his neck but needed a few extra seconds to calm down.
"Sorry," I breathed immediately, feeling my lost logic begin to return to me at a slow pace.
His arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me into a hug as he rested his head on my shoulder. He sat back on his heels, wrapping his other arm around my waist.
"You okay?" he whispered.
"I should be asking you that," I mumbled, hugging him back. He replied with a muffled sound before his lips pressed against my bare shoulder.
"That felt good."
"I went overboard," I noted. He didn't reply, his lips busy with kissing my shoulder and moving upward to my neck. I relaxed and let him, my body pulsing from our closeness.
Even if Pix was a shifter, he definitely was affected by the euphoria side of my bite; a vampire’s bite always brought both pleasure and pain. In most cases, the pleasure overpowers the bit of pain felt in the beginning.
"Sia." Pix quietly moaned against my flesh, biting it gently and prompting a moan from me.
One of his hands left my waist to tug at my bikini wrap, loosening its hold. He pulled back to meet my eyes and I noticed the intense hunger in his gold-tinted blue eyes.
His hand tugged the top tie of the bikini, releasing my perky breasts. He enjoyed a few seconds of admiring them before he leaned down and took my right breast into his mouth, sucking and using his tongue to play with my nipple.
"Ah," I moaned and arched my back slightly, realizing how sensitive my body was now.
It felt like I'd been rejuvenated, but now I was high on the same euphoria Pix was riding on.
My fingers urged to run through his hair and that's exactly what I did. The silky smoothness of his hair felt amazing while he pleased my breasts, his mouth on one and his hand fondling the other.
He released me and switched, his mouth attending to my other breast like it was his duty to appease both of them equally.
My breathing was rough and I was doing my best not to be so excited, but my body was dying for more. I didn't think Pix would even be this experienced, but boy did I underestimate him, and in the back of my mind, I felt he could deliver a lot more.
When Pix was finished, his lips slammed hard against mine, not caring about the hint of blood still on them as he maneuvered me down on the bed, his body hovering over me.
