"If I told you, I think we'd both bail out of getting drinks," I teased.

"I'm perfectly fine with bailing," he mused. "But seeing as we have a surprise for you, that wouldn't be good."

"Surprise?!" I squeaked, wondering what it was. "Tell me!"

"I don't know," Dimitri teased. "You used a different shampoo today."

"Uh...that's because mine ran out. Hey! You're trying to distract me," I accused.

A lustful gaze flashed across his face. "If I wanted to distract you, all I'd need to do is pin you in this chair and kiss you until nothing made sense anymore."

"Tease." I blushed and pouted my lips.

He laughed at my expression before hugging me and taking a long sniff. "Blossom."

I froze at his quiet moan, trying not to fall for his charm. We'd never been so affectionate and flirtatious, and it was really throwing me off.

  In a good, confusing way.

"Dimitri.” I returned to our earlier conversation. “Do you really think it's my hellhound trait that's making us…well..." I wasn't sure how to describe it.

"Like a horny couple who can't keep their hands off one another?"

"Something like that." I ran my hands through his hair, relaxing in his hug. "Why did you cut your hair?"

"You're changing the subject," he pointed out, but followed up with, "I don't like long hair during summer. It gets in the way. We were training a lot and it's annoying to wash every day. It'll grow back fast."

Pulling back slightly, he looked down at me. "Are you okay with it?"

"You look extra hot," I admitted. "And I’m not saying that just because I really want to fuck you right now." I whispered the second part.

The hunger in his eyes was making my stomach flip and my pussy clench, but I had to try and keep my body from going crazy. This wasn't the place and he was still hiding whatever surprise they had for me.

"If I don't get to fuck you tonight, I'm breaking the guys’ beds," Dimitri said with determination.

I gasped and slapped his chest while struggling not to laugh again. "Dimitri! Violence is not the answer."

"I want you." He pouted his lips.

"Ugh." I kissed him quickly. "Don't make that puppy face. You'll have me later tonight." I wasn't going to decline his needs, especially when I was just as urgent to ride his cock and show him what he'd been missing all summer long.

Ride his cock? Jeez, Silver. When did you get so sex-dependent? We have to remember to figure this out later...after sex.

"Good." He gave me a sweet smile this time, kissing my forehead as an added bonus. "Now for your surprise."

"What is it?" I looked around him to see if he was hiding anything.

"I think Star found the surprise first." Dimitri chuckled, looking to his left. I followed his gaze and squealed, abandoning poor Dimitri and racing toward the two new arrivals.

  "ZURI!" I cheered.

"SILVER!" Zuri screamed, the two of us crashing into a hug. I picked her up and twirled her around, the two of us laughing our heads off, while Dimitri greeted Xzavier.

"How?!" I asked, lowering her to the ground and checking to make sure she was real.

She gave me the biggest smile, putting her hands on her hips and standing proudly at her 5'4" height in a neon pink bikini that popped against her pale skin.

"A group of lovable boyfriends called Xzavier to ask if there was any chance we'd be able to come back for a few days and spend some time with the amazing Silver Spell Solange, aka my best friend!" Zuri explained, using her hands to be extra dramatic.

"Seeing as our families are heading to Korea next, we decided we could do a quick stop here and go to Korea after!"

"What?! You chose to be here rather than in Korea?" I gasped, looking at Xzavier, who waved at me.

"Not that big of a deal. Not like we're missing the entire trip. Our families seem to get along so they'll be taking a bunch of tours this whole week. We won't be doing family dinners and stuff until next week. We'll be back by then," Xzavier explained.

"B-But! What excuse did you give?" I questioned, looking back and forth between them. Zuri giggled. "I told them we had to pass by S.S.S. to pick up some documents to prepare for Year Two! They wouldn't dare let us miss that for tours. I wanted to take out some books anyway to prepare for the new semester. We'll pick those up before heading back to show as evidence."

"You...did all that for me?" Now I was on the verge of crying. Zuri smiled, jumping up and hugging me.

"Of course, silly Silver! You're our friend! You were the first official friend I made," Zuri revealed.

Xzavier cleared his throat, wearing a pout on his lips. Zuri rolled her eyes and looked back at him. "Girl. Friend. You're my boyfriend. You don't count in the friend category anymore."

She brushed him off and returned back to me. "Now! You have to tell me what you've been doing here! Did you have a bonfire yet? Snorkeling? I heard there's a cool mountain trail near here. I wanna hop around!" She was so full of energy, it was throwing me off.

"I haven't done much. Just the basic drinks, sitting in the sun, sleeping, eating," I admitted.

Zuri gasped dramatically, her expression full of disbelief. "This is an EMERGENCY! You will not finish this summer without us having a blast! Where are the margaritas?! We have to get you wasted and see if you can hit a piñata!"

Xzavier groaned. "That has nothing to do with summer."

"It does now!" Zuri announced with pride.

"Can I bring the alcohol now?" Scarlett called out.

"Yes!" Zuri announced and raced to where Scarlett was coming out with a tray of colorful glasses.

"I better go help. Zuri's clumsy," Xzavier declared, turning around just as Zuri tripped and face-planted into the sand. "See?"

"Oh, no," I gasped, but Xzavier gave the two of us a grin. "I'll help her out. You guys should go get the others."

"Okay," Dimitri confirmed. He walked over to me, and I couldn't help but hug him with all my might.

"Thank you," I whispered, blinking away my tears.

"Summer should be about enjoying a break, but also getting time to spend with the people you care about. Figured we were far from one another long enough. I think I'd die if I had to hear Ryuu's nagging, Yuriel's muttering, and Wolfgang's howls for another night."

"Nagging, muttering, and howls?" I questioned.

"Yup. Their ways of complaining that they miss you," he confirmed. He pulled out from our hug and turned around, kneeling down to the ground.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

  "Piggyback," he replied.

  "For?"

  "Finding the others," he reminded.

"Oh." I got onto his back and he easily picked me up. "I thought you merely wanted me to enjoy a ride on you."

"Testing my almost non-existent limits, Blossom," Dimitri noted. "I could take you in the bushes."

I laughed. "I'm not being fucked with branches poking me and the chance of getting poison ivy! Imagine the chaos!"

"That would be an irritable way of spending the rest of summer," Dimitri admitted, beginning to speed walk. "Hold on."

  "Wait! Where are we going?!"

"To go catch the flying naked dragon and the angel trunks thief," Dimitri cheered, speeding up so quickly, I couldn't help but laugh and hold on tightly.

The guys, and now Zuri and Xzavier, had only been here for a few minutes and it was like they were already the highlight of the entire summer vacation.

For them to arrive and plan this without my knowledge really touched my heart.

Now this feels like real summer break.

  Reminiscing About The Past

"Why are you acting as though you know my property better than me?" I inquired, holding Dimitri's hand as we trailed through the forest that surrounded the lake.

"With my excellent sense of smell, I do potentially know your family's property better than you," he replied, squeezing my hand.

  We were taking an
evening stroll after a thrilling afternoon and eventful dinner. Spending time with a group of people who all got along was beyond refreshing, and it was the perfect opportunity for my mom and sister to get to know all of them.

When I was young, I always dreamed of having friends over. It was one of the many things I wished for, but I simply wasn't lucky enough to enjoy those type of gatherings.

Today had shown me what it was like to be surrounded by individuals who wanted to be present in your life. It also gave me a glimpse of the vision my father always had for us.

What he saw in his mind of what the world could be like with wizards and witches getting along with supernatural shifters.

When we ate at dinner, we joked, laughed, teased, and said grace as individuals. Our races, genders, backgrounds, and powers didn't matter. The important thing was to have fun and enjoy each other's company with food, music, and alcohol.

I'd been doing my best to not be so touchy with Dimitri throughout the evening, balancing things out with Wolfgang and Ryuu, as they had spent a lot of time running around in their birthday suits. Poor Ryuu basically got a full-body tan from flying naked for thirty minutes.

At least his body was equally tanned, including those lovely butt cheeks of his.

Yuriel and I had been in charge of clean up, and we'd done that easily while catching up.

By the time everything was calm, and three of my boyfriends were chilling quietly in the living room and explaining their different shifter types to Mom and Scarlett, Dimitri took the opportunity to literally pick me up and whisk me away through the back door.

Too bad the actual cottage wasn't soundproof, or I'm sure he would have simply done it up in my room.

Now that we'd been walking through the forest for fifteen minutes, I had no clue where we were going.

"You know there aren't any other cottages in this area," I pointed out. "Unless we're enjoying a night picnic or something."

"We're almost there, I promise." He looked back to stare into my turquoise eyes, the light breeze passing by and lifting strands of my hair while blowing through his.

"Still strange to see you with short hair," I mumbled. His smirk widened, while his eyes softened just slightly.

I caught the glimpse of sadness that flickered in his orbs but it was gone before I could fully acknowledge it.

I wouldn't ask about it now, but I was curious if there was a more specific reason for his drastic hair change. As a kid, there were so many reasons to change your hair.

Even I enjoyed getting my hair cut, though I never dyed it because I enjoyed my silver hair and the added turquoise and sometimes white strands made it more vibrant. Since those appeared when I used a lot of magic, my turquoise highlights were more prominent.

However, in adulthood, I didn't personally believe people changed their hair without a stronger reason. Sure, they might just want to change things up, but a lot of times it had a deeper meaning to it.

When Dad was sick, I was tempted to cut my hair super short because he was losing his hair at a rapid rate. He told me not to, saying it took me far too long to grow it, and I could always use magic to have short hair for a few days.

I could have been reading too deeply into things, but Dimitri was important to me, which made me not want to dismiss certain things I picked up.

The thought reminded me of what day it was.

The anniversary of Dad’s death is coming up...

  "We're here!"

Dimitri's announcement pulled me out of my thoughts, only for my eyes to grow wide as my jaw dropped open.

"Dimitri," I drawled, slowly looking to him. "Where in the paranormal magic world did a pink log cabin show up from!"

He seemed happy with my reaction and tugged me forward to get a closer look.

The Barbie-pink log cabin reminded me of a cozy cottage where you enjoyed each other's company within the comfort of Mother Nature.

It was accented with white paint to make the pink really pop and the windows were tinted, which was definitely different from regular cabins. I noticed the solar panels on the side of the roof, which made me happy that the home would be able to run at night off what it had absorbed all day.

"So, who's place are we borrowing?" I questioned. "Is this one of those secret Airbnb rentals, where they don't disclose the location until last minute and it's like a surprise?" I pondered, thinking that would be pretty fun and unique.

Not to mention, explain how a pink house got built on our family property. Wait...how would they be able to build without our permission? They could have asked Mom, but would she agree to a pink house? No. She likes black, like our magical house.

Dimitri wrapped his arms around me, bringing me close as he gave me a kiss on my nose.

"Since we’re here, can we use your house for the night to have hot sex?"

"I'd be honored to offer my home for hot sex, but I don't have a house," I argued.

When he arched an eyebrow at me, I did a recap of what he'd previously asked.

Can we use your house for the night to...use your house? My house?

"Dimitri," I pressed. "You're not telling me that this pink, cozy home is mine?"

"Well, you were technically supposed to get it on your birthday, but getting enough pink paint took longer than expected and I ended up needing some extra help to paint it all up nicely," Dimitri admitted. "But to answer your question, yes. This pink, cozy home officially belongs to Silver Spell Solange. I have the deed and everything inside."

I stared at him in pure shock. I couldn't even fathom words.

My hellhound boyfriend got me a pink house?!

"D-Dimitri," I whispered after I struggled to get any words out. "How much did this cost?"

"Not a lot. I got the idea when you invited me to stay over the holidays last Christmas. It was the week you were sick. You kept on mumbling about a pink cabin, and when I asked your sister about it, she said when you were younger, you always used to ask your dad to get you a pink cabin that was near the cottage. That way you could play dollhouse and tea party."

I blushed at the reminder, recalling my obsession with pink homes. That was back when I'd begged to get a pink mailbox.

My dad had promised one day he'd get me a pink cabin but once he got sick and everything after, it was one of the things I gave up on.

No one sold their pink houses these days, unless it was for triple the appraised price. Pink was one of those witch colors that the majority of us loved. Our partners would spend a fortune to buy them, escalating the value of pink houses off the charts.

"But why did that motivate you to buy this?" I asked. "Pink houses are as expensive as four-story mansions where celebrities once lived. They're fought for by the richest witches and people who buy and invest it to sell for quadruple the profit in less than five years!"

Pointing to the cabin, I continued. "That cabin could literally be worth millions of dollars. Why would you spend so much on me?"

Dimitri blinked. "People actually spend millions on homes?"

"Yes," I answered. "With how fast the economy is growing, especially with the introduction of the supernatural race, property is considered a big investment. Mages love bright, colorful clothing, jewels, accessories, and homes. If a house was plain old white, no one would buy it, and it would depreciate in value. However, if someone painted it pink, purple, or blue, with a colorful interior, it could go for millions if not billions."

  "That sounds complicated," Dimitri commented.

"How were you able to buy it then if you didn't know that?" I asked.

  "I made it."

Hold on. What did he just say? Made?!

"Made it? You mean like created it with magic?" I offered.

"No. I made it from scratch," Dimitri revealed. "There's a bunch of videos online on how to build homes, cabins, and castles. I didn't think you'd want a pink castle, and that's kind of hard to hide for six months. I could have done a house since those are easier, but cabins are sturdier
and insulate heat better. I figured if we came by during the winter months, it would still carry its cozy feel and we could have a coal fireplace, unlike the new fancier models that run on electricity."

"Dimitri...that's not possible. When did you start this?"

"January? In my village, there are a few bear shifters who come by to help us patch up our buildings and such. We like doing things by manpower rather than relying on machinery. It makes the work carry more value in our culture and the buildings last a lot longer. I told them I wanted to make a cabin for my girlfriend, but I needed those huge logs," he began to explain, releasing my waist to use his hands to aid to the story dynamic.

"See, in our culture, we respect what nature gives us, including the wildlife and trees. We hate removing wood from Mother Earth unless it’s to create shelter for our own safety, not for profit. Before we can do that, we have to do a singing ritual and ask Mother Nature to borrow some of her trees to create shelter. We light up candles, incense, and sage for the ceremony and sing around a burning fire with the stars twinkling in the night sky. Once we do that, we have a moment of silence and in the morning we are allowed to take what we need. I did all of that the day before semester two classes started," he explained.

Looking back at the structure, he smiled. "I asked them to find someone who could cloak this area with magic so the snow wouldn't affect it. I'd gathered most of the materials by the time I started and made a blueprint of how I wanted the exterior to look before the interior. Once I made the base, it was pretty easy to figure out, but I did have a few issues. My goal was to finish it for your birthday, but like I said, things got delayed from the paint to the furniture, and the exams were a little exhausting so I took some extra days off after the exams when I chilled at Yuriel's place."

Glancing back at me, he took my hand once more and squeezed it.

"I told the others once it was finished since I wanted help furnishing it, but I also wanted them contributing a little bit as well. Since we couldn't quite do the birthday celebration and Zuri and Xzavier said they wouldn't be able to come down until today, the guys said I could show you first and then we could do a huge celebration tomorrow."
